Before the draw

Entry and eligibility

Players need an active Dorts Championship account and must join an event before its published sign-up deadline.
Some events use ranking-based entry restrictions. The event page shows the active entry rule before a player signs up.
A player may withdraw while the event is scheduled, open, or closed. Once the draw exists, the field is locked.
Where a field is short, empty draw positions become byes. Byes advance automatically and do not count as played matches.

Get the match played

Both players are responsible for making contact and agreeing a time before the round deadline.
Use match chat or the scheduling proposal on the match page so there is a visible record if a dispute occurs.
A player who is not ready within 30 minutes of an agreed time may concede a walkover, provided the opponent can show reasonable evidence.
Contact an admin before the deadline when a match cannot be completed. Extensions are discretionary and are not automatic.

Match structure

Main formatAll tournament matches are best of 3 sets.

Each setEvery set is best of 5 legs under default controls.

FinalsThe final is extended to best of 5 sets.

ReportingMatch reports record the completed set score on the match page.

These default controls apply across all tournaments unless an admin explicitly publishes a special event rule.

Make it official

Submit. Either player enters the completed score, walkover, or retirement.
Review. The opponent checks the score and confirms it or opens a dispute.
Resolve. A confirmed score updates the draw and rankings immediately. An admin reviews disputed evidence and makes the final ruling.

Never confirm an incorrect score. Ask for a correction or dispute it while the report is still pending.

Community standard

Play honestly, communicate clearly, and treat opponents and organisers with respect.
Score manipulation, impersonation, harassment, or deliberately misleading evidence may lead to removal from an event or account suspension.
Technical problems should be raised as soon as they occur. Players should preserve screenshots or chat records that help establish what happened.
Admin rulings exist to protect the competition. Repeated abuse of reporting or scheduling tools may carry further sanctions.
